2/18/2024 0 Comments Hostel near la rambla barcelonaI honestly didn’t plan to give Barcelonians or other tourists culture shock by doing embarrassing things there. It’s a picture that can be decoded as “Barcelona, here I come! OR Isn’t this Spanish enough? You gotta be blind not to know where I am!” The following photo was taken within 2 seconds at the risk of being mistaken for a thief, especially when I swiftly snatched Peter Rabbit (which is mine of course! xD) away after taking the photo…. If I don’t seem to sound as enthusiastic as I should when I write about La Rambla, it’s because I’m not really into shopping. To be honest, La Rambla looked quite similar to the path close to my hostel. :D Peter Rabbit preferred to take a photo with it: It is usually thought to be a hybrid of Platanus orientalis (oriental plane) and the Platanus occidentalis (American sycamore). More info from Wiki: Platanus × acerifolia, the London plane, London planetree, or hybrid plane, is a tree in the genus Platanus. Here’s their full name: Platanus × acerifolia >_< They were in fact the highlight of my stay there! (That’s precisely why I can never write a decent travel guide that sells…xD Wait, if I did write about the beauty of the trees along La Rambla and how worthwhile/inspiring it is to stare at them and hug them, would you still consider buying my travel guide? :O) :D Believe me, I didn’t scream upon seeing the orange, yellow and light brown leaves on the ground only because I didn’t want to appear like one of the characters in A.’s films. It’s the beginning of a promising hot Spanish summer but early in the morning it smelt more like autumn. In any case, a few hours after I had landed in la tierra de los conejos, I left my belongings at the hostel and ran out to take a deep breath of the fresh and brisk air in Barcelona. /rebates/2fde5012fhotels-near-la-rambla-barcelona-spain2f&. At the same time I couldn’t help but think, “Perhaps Almodóvar’s films are quite realistic after all….” (es broma. I felt very welcome by his hospitality indeed. Best hotel in Barcelona for seeing all the sites. We stayed at the H10 Montecada in the heart of the Barri Gothic area. I am delighted to say that the first person to welcome me in Urgell (where my hostel was located) was an old madman who wandered around mumbling “I’ll kill you all!” (just loud enough to warn the pedestrians and tourists… :P very considerate of him I must say). Hotel Bagués has a great location and trendy single rooms. Otherwise waking up at 7:40am is…let’s say, not so early by Hong Kong standard. Ooopss, I’m straying from the main point again! xD). :P I describe it as “ungodly” only because one could hardly see any living souls there without walking a bit (except for the passengers who were on the same plane as me, of course…unless they were all spirits/ghosts.
